How to Restart your Clash of Clans Village or Make a Second Account

with one iDevice

Assalamualaikum Wr.Wb

This article contains instructions for an iOS Device. For a Google or Android Device, you want my article How to Restart your Clash of Clans Village or Make a Second Account with one Google or Android Device)
When I got to Town Hall 7 of my first Clash of Clans village, I realized that I had made a lot of mistakes.  I upgraded my Town Hall too quickly and I unwisely wasted all of my gems on gold instead of saving them for extra Builders (read my Guide to Free Gems to learn how to get some extra gems).  I wanted to start over.  Maybe, you find yourself in a similar situation, or perhaps, you would simply just like to start a second village so that you can play two simulataneously.  This guide will help you accomplish that.

A quick note:
If you own two separate iDevices, and one of them does not have Clash of Clans installed yet, you can simply create a new Gamecenter ID on the iDevice that doesn't have Clash of Clans, then install Clash of Clans on this iDevice and start a new village.  Then, on your original iDevice, log out of your Gamecenter Account, and log in with the new one.  When you start Clash of Clans, it will ask you if you want to load the new village and delete the old one.  Don't worry, however, because you can always log back into your old Gamecenter ID to bring the village back.

FAQ

Can I restart my village and start over?

There is no in-game feature that allows you to restart your village, but you can make a new village by following my steps.

Will I get banned for having two Clash of Clans accounts?

Sometimes players get confused about this because there is a rule stated in the Clash of Clans Community Forums that you are not allowed to have two forum accounts.  A forum account is completely separate from your villages and Gamecenter ID's.

Don't I run the risk of deleting one of my villages by playing multiple accounts on one iDevice?

As long as each village you create is attached to its own Gamecenter ID, then none of your villages will ever be erased.  (The one way a village can be erased is if you are playing two separate villages on two separate iDevices that are logged into the same Gamecenter ID.  Whenever two villages use the same Gamecenter ID, one village is always at risk for deletion.)

Step 1:

Back up your iDevice
iCloud is definitely the way to go.  It will back up all your apps, music and pictures for free, then gives you 5gb of free storage for any additional miscellaneous documents and data.  Go to Apple's iCloud support page for full info.

Step 2:

Reset all Content and Settings
This will delete everyhting off of your iDevice.  You don't have to worry about losing anything important as long as you did step one first.  Important:  make sure that you set up as new device and do not restore from a previous backup.  Make a new iCloud account.

Step 3:

Log into Gamecenter
Once your iDevice has finished initial setup as a new device, go to Gamceneter and log in using your brand new iCloud account.

Step 4:

Install Clash of Clans
Go to the app store and install Clash of Clans and start a new village.  Play until the tutorial is finished or as long as you want.

Step 5:

Reset all Content and Settings
This time you are going to restore from an iCloud backup.  Use the back up you just created in step one.

Wait for all your apps, music, etc to restore to your device.  Once the restoration is complete you can log in and out of Gamecenter using your new and original Gamecenter ID's.  You can simply play the new village or both.  I, personally, play four accounts on one device.  I don't recommend that many because a couple of them are bound to be neglected, but it is possible.
